The **sharpening pen** from our Basic collection is a versatile knife sharpener you can easily take with you! The sharpening surface consists of diamond particles. Diamond particles can sharpen even the hardest types of steel. Quick results are guaranteed with this all-round sharpening tool.

The sharpening steel in this sharpening pen has two parts. One broad part to easily sharpen knives with a straight blade. This part is also enhanced with a slot to sharpen darts, arrows or fishing hooks. The other part is tapered. With it you can easily sharpen knives with a curved or serrated blade.

## Use
When you just start using the sharpening steel it is much coarser than the final grind. We recommend using the sharpening steel on larger tools to pre-sharpen the sharpening surface. An axe, for instance, or a chisel, machete or shovel. How will you know if the sharpening steel is ready to go? Simple! After using it a couple of times the steel will hardly become any smoother. That is when it is ready to take on anything you throw at it! And because you don't need water or oil you can sharpen your tools no matter where you find yourself.

Do, however, make sure you don't apply too much pressure as you sharpen your knives. The diamond particles remove a lot of material, you don't need to use any force.
